The setting moon in autumn, in Canberra, Australia.

All of a sudden autumn seems to have rolled in. Daylight savings ended last Sunday so it’s getting dark early, and crunchy leaves are everywhere. It’s a brilliant time of year. Canberra’s winters are cold by Australian standards, and the great thing about them is that the days are cool but nearly always dry, bright and clear. When I think of Canberra winters I think of frost and big blue skies. Bright parrots and noisy cockatoos are around here all year round, but they particularly like to be here in the colder months. It’s pretty great.
