Wasenhorn

Wasenhorn (3246 m) is a mountain that sits right on the border between Switzerland and Italy, in the eastern part of Valais. It's a nice hike in to an easy and pleasant scramble up a rock ridge to the summit. Across from Wasenhorn is Monte Leone, which is taller (3553 m) and has impressive glacial skirts. Tanya and I climbed Wasenhorn on Saturday, as a very nice day trip from Simplon Pass, complete with a stop for a coffee in the hut. Here are some photos from the hike.
