Paris by TGV

While Tanya's mum Cathy was in town, we decided to go to Paris for a couple of days. We caught the TGV from Lausanne, which is an excellent way to get to Paris. It takes only three and a half hours and delivers you right into the centre of the city, to Gare de Lyon. We did a lot of wandering around Paris, and visited two art galleries — l'Orangerie, which contains Monet's incredible Nymphéas series, and the Musée d'Orsay. In the Musée d'Orsay my favourite artworks were Pompon's White Bear (rock sculpted like snow in the wind), and the Van Goghs.
