French words (watch out)

un verger

=

an orchard

But watch out! Because verge (m) means penis, and you don't want to offend any fruit growers. Then there's this classic:

un verre

=

a glass (ie of wine)

But watch out! Because ver (m) means worm, and you don't want to invite friends out for a worm. A typo can also lead to a hilarious translation. After finding the phrase "savourez la vie à pleines gorgées" on a beer coaster, a beer-fuelled debate on what it meant exactly produced this beauty:

A plausible beer coaster slogan anyway, I suppose!
