The long journey home

It is super impressive that within 24 hours it's possible to be literally on the other side of the world! Tanya and I made the journey on Thursday and Friday last week. We left cold Lausanne at 5:30 am, took the train to Zurich, an A380 to Singapore, a 777 to Sydney, and enjoyed a beautiful summery evening with my sister Anna. The next day we jumped on a flight to NZ, thus completing our transition to a 12 hour time difference. So all of a sudden here we are in Nelson, where there is a bright sun, the mountains are blue in the distance, there are insects chirping and birds singing and everything is lush and green. It is bizarre and wonderful to be here! Switzerland seems half a world away, which I guess makes sense because right now it actually is.

Quite the contrast - the hot, flat, dry interior of South Australia.
